Do I have to pay anything to join?

No. Joining and taking part are always free. If anyone asks you to pay in our name, please report it to us.

Who can take part?

Anyone aged 18 or over. Each project lists its own requirements, such as language, location or device.

How and when will I be paid?

Once your work is approved, within the time stated in your brief. The rate is also stated in each project brief.

Is my information secure?

Yes. Your work, content and personal details are kept secure and used only for the project you join. See our privacy policy.

How eam e-work collects, uses and protects your information, and the choices you have. Last updated 31 March 2026.

The short version

We only collect what a project needs, and we tell you what that is before you start.
Your photos, videos, voice and writing are used only for the project described in its brief.
We never sell your information to advertisers.
You can say no, change your mind, see your data, or ask us to delete it at any time.
You must be 18 or older to take part.

1. Who we are

eam e-work is the division of eam involved in work that can be delivered online, based in Chandigarh, India. Legal entity: eam, GST registration number 04ALHPS6037K2ZS, registered address: IInd Floor, SCO 54, Sector 26, Madhya Marg, Chandigarh 160019. We decide how and why your information is used for our projects, so we are responsible for it under data protection law.

2. What we collect

When you join: your name, email, WhatsApp number, country, city, age group, languages, the devices you have, and anything you choose to tell us.

When you do a project: only what that project's brief asks for. Depending on the project, this may include photos or videos of your face, recordings of your voice, photos of your handwriting, or text you transcribe or translate. We may also note basic details about the submission, such as the date and the type of device used.

When we pay you: the payment details needed to send you money, such as a UPI ID, bank details or PayPal email. We ask for these only after your work is approved.

When you contact us: your messages and our replies.

This website does not use advertising cookies or tracking tools. We do use analytical tools to understand participant attributes.

3. Why we use it

We use your information to match you with projects, send you briefs, check and accept your work, pay you, answer your questions, keep records the law requires, and prevent fraud (for example, people submitting someone else's photos). We rely on your consent for your project submissions, on our agreement with you to manage projects and payments, and on legal obligations for tax and payment records.

4. Your face and voice

Photos and videos of your face, and recordings of your voice, can be treated as sensitive or biometric data in many countries, because they can be used to recognize a person. For this reason:

We ask for your clear, separate consent for each project that collects them, and the brief explains exactly how the data will be used, for example "to train and test face verification systems".
We never use your face or voice for anything a brief did not describe, and never to advertise.
You only ever submit content of yourself. Never submit photos, videos or recordings of other people unless a brief specifically asks for it and they have agreed.

Our clients. Most projects are carried out for companies that build new technologies. We deliver your project submissions to the client named or described in that brief, under a contract that limits them to the stated purpose. We don't share your personally identifiable information (PII). Submissions go to them without your name attached.

Service providers who help us run eam e-work, such as email, file storage and payment providers, only as needed to provide their service.

Authorities, only where the law requires it.

We never sell your personal information.

6. Sharing across borders

We work with contributors in many countries and clients around the world, so your information may be stored or used outside the country where you live, including in India. When this happens, we put safeguards in place, such as contracts that require the same level of protection. Our clients and storage are mainly located in the USA, Asia and Europe.

7. How long we keep it

Your profile: while you're a member, and for 6 months after your last activity, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.

Project submissions: for as long as the project and its brief require, up to 1 year, then deleted.

Payment records: for as long as tax and accounting laws require, which can be several years.

8. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy;
correct anything that's wrong or out of date;
delete your information;
withdraw consent you have given, at any time, as easily as you gave it;
stop contacting you about new projects.

Depending on your country, you may have further rights, such as naming someone to act for you, or complaining to your national data protection authority. We respond to requests within 30 days.

An important note about new technologies and AI training. If your submission has already been delivered to a client and used to train an AI system, we will ask the client to delete your data. However, it may not be technically possible to remove its effect from a system that has already been trained. We say this plainly so that you can decide before you take part.

10. Other points

Age. eam e-work is only for people aged 18 and over. If we learn we have information from someone younger, we delete it.

Security. We protect your information with access controls, secure storage and by limiting who on our team can see it. No system is perfectly secure, and if a breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Scams. We never ask for money to join or take part. If anyone asks you to pay in our name, please report it to careers@eam-ework.com or on the contact page.

Changes. If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we'll tell you by email before the change takes effect.
